Thrifty Thursday- Five Minute Festive Decor

I came across a cute picture online that showed some glass hurricanes paired with with candles all purchased from the Dollar Store- so I thought to myself "how do I spice this up for the Holiday's?" Then along came a "pin" on Pinterest, someone had beat me to the punch. I wanted to share this because it is SO quick and easy and it is cheap too :) YAY!
Glass- $3 Total
Candles Pack of 4- $1 Total
Two bags of Candy Corn- $2 Total
For a grand TOTAL of $6.00!

(And just as I told my husband when he asked if he could eat the candy corn- I do not advise it!)

Monday Motivation!

When I saw this quote I just fell in LOVE! It is so very true and it couldn't have come from a more perfect person. Steve Jobs was such an inspiration in so many ways and his legacy will live on forever, I just had to share this! We could all learn something from Mr. Jobs. I hope this gives you a little motivation for a productive Monday and a great week ahead...

To Boston & Back in ONE day...

Welcome to Our Boston Marathon- Literally!

So with pretty short notice Lindsay and I decided to head to Boston to say one last farewell to Priscilla of Boston.
POB is one the the most prestigious bridal brands in the industry, and as of Aug. 31 they decided to retire all of their high end designer lines (ex: Melissa Sweet, Vineyard, Jewel). When we were invited to go to their headquarters to shop the now retired bridal gowns for LUXEredux Bridal - we HAD to say YES! So we booked our flights and headed out for one FUN filled day! It was my first time to Boston and I have to say I want to go back already... It was a day I will never ever ever forget it was so perfect!

Here are a few snap shots from the day's festivities.
We were up at 4:00AM to catch our flight out of CMH (Columbus, OH)

Starbucks was a MUST! Cheers to One crazy day...

We watched the sun come up, it was Beautiful!

Taking a cab into the pretty city

There is so much History there!

The REAL Sam Adams!

OBSESSED with Newbury St!

We found CUPCAKES! Yum!

And it's back to Ohio...
Boston Airport. Until next time Boston my love...

Salsa Fiesta!

It's prime harvest time so we decided to whip up a large batch of Homemade Salsa with all of our fresh garden picks!
All it takes is some patients and a few pumpkin beers, haha, really it is very easy. The most time consuming part is blanching the tomatoes and peeling off the skins other than that you just need a great food processor and lots of fresh veggies!
Pretty Simple.
I guess I can't take all the credit the boys pretty much did all the hard work, us girls made sure things ran smoothly and we were the taste testers, wink wink.

The recipe that we use is a secret of our friend Mr. Sam Schumacher so I have added a similar recipe below for you to try at home:

Sam's famous homemade Limoncello

Fresco Salsa

1 sweet onion, diced
16 cups of tomatoes (blanch & cut up)
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup sugar
1 green pepper
2 cups sweet peppers
4 to 7 hot peppers (the more peppers the hotter the spice)
2 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon garlic
1 small bunch fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon cumin
1 dash of chili pepper

Use food processor to separately process the fresh veggies until they are finely minced.
Add all processed veggies to a large pot
Boil & simmer 30-45 minutes
Funnel salsa into jars
Seal tight
Process if water bath canner
Let jars cool off and listen for the tops to pop securing that they are indeed sealed tight

Viva La Salsa!

Enjoy!!
